Bartow CRA

The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) was created by the City of Bartow in 1990 to eliminate blight and promote the redevelopment of the property within the CRA district.

Building & Development Fees

Per Section 109.2 of the Florida Building Code 6th Edition, 2017, on buildings, structures, electrical, gas, mechanical, and plumbing systems or alterations requiring a permit, a fee for each permit shall be paid as required in accordance with the fee schedule as established by the City of Bartow.

Building Permit

All accessory buildings such as detached carports, garages, workshops & storage sheds require a building permit. Permits are also required for sheds, fences & pools. Property owners may act as their own contractors as long as they comply with the Owner Builder Disclosure Statement and in accordance with Florida Statutes. Inspections are required for all permitted work. Simply call the department to schedule inspections.
