All accessory buildings such as detached carports, garages, workshops and storage sheds require a building permit. Permits are also required for sheds, fences & pools. Property owners may act as their own contractors as long as they comply with the Owner Builder Disclosure Statement and in accordance with Florida Statutes. Inspections are required for all permitted work. Simply call the department to schedule inspections.
