Utility Rates / Fee Schedule

Power Cost Adjustment

Recent record-breaking cold weather across the country, including in our area, has increased electricity demand, which, in turn, has driven up fuel and energy costs. The resulting Power Cost Adjustment helps cover the actual cost of providing reliable electric service and may result in a higher monthly energy bill for our customers. We will continue to monitor costs and will readjust rates as soon as possible.

Note that as of Oct. 1, 2025,  some utility rates have changed.

Ensuring Continued Reliable, Efficient, and Affordable Service

Solid Waste

Reliable trash and recycling services are essential to maintaining public health, safety, and quality of life in Bartow by preventing waste buildup, reducing pollution, and keeping our streets clean. The current schedule of rate increases—the first since 2011—are necessary to cover rising costs for fuel, equipment, and landfill fees. These adjustments will ensure the City can continue providing dependable waste and recycling services for all residents.

The costs of providing services have continued to rise. To ensure continued, reliable service, the City is adjusting rates to cover expenses like fuel, equipment, and landfill fees.

Water / Wastewater

Every day, when you make coffee or wash your hands, you tap into a vital resource: water. The City of Bartow manages a water system of more than 200 miles of pipes and an 8.75 million-gallon-a-day Class A Lime Softening Water Treatment Facility to make that resource available to you every moment of every day. The City also maintains a wastewater system that gathers and safely transports our community’s wastewater to the City’s Water Reclamation Facility.

To ensure we can continue to provide safe, high-quality service to more than 26,000 residents and businesses across the city and parts of unincorporated Polk County, the City had to change what it charges for water and wastewater service.
